A familiar Kiel real estate office took on a new storefront appearance Saturday-and a new nameplate.
Kiel welcomed Pleasant View Realty to its main street, as the company unveiled its acquisition of the former At Home Realty at 327 Fremont Street.
June 1 marked the official date of the transition for the two firms. With the agents and clients of At Home being folded into the Pleasant View Realty family, the Kiel location becomes an additional office for the new owners.
Executive Broker Matt Kapellen said Pleasant View Realty's acquisition of the At Home agency helps the company along its growth path.

Excited about Kiel location
"We are excited to be opening a storefront in Kiel, and we look forward to strengthening our relationships in the community and building our client base," Kapellen said.
He added that the Kiel office would evolve into more than a home for the four agents who previously worked there. "We hope to integrate different Pleasant View agents into the Kiel location along with other new agents who may wish to join our team," Kapellen said.
The staff from At Home will become part of the Pleasant View Realty ranks. Those who have enjoyed working with Linda DeTroye, Janet Miller, Sharon Thelen and Wayne Boettcher will still be able to contact them through the same office.
"They will be joining us in what we call our growth mode," Kapellen said.
The addition of these four agents will bring the total of Pleasant View Realty's agents to 15.
"We see ourselves as 'The Little Big Company.' We want to continue to grow," said Kapellen, "but it's important to us that we maintain our personal and professional approach to real estate."
The addition of the four former At Home agents to the Pleasant View roster pushes the total experience of the staff to more than 150 years in the real estate business.
Pleasant View Realty plans to maintain regular daily hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Through the magic of call forwarding technology, buyers and sellers will have nearly instant access to all 15 agents.

Providing a wealth of info
Kapellen said Pleasant View's approach to promoting properties involves a multi-media effort.
"We have committed to providing our buyers and sellers with as much information as possible on properties-and to making sure it's always accurate and up-to-date," he said.
As a result, Pleasant View has increased its online focus. "We have definitely seen a shift to electronic media," he said.
Pleasant View Realty works with all of the major real estate web search engines throughout the country. In addition, the firm promotes properties through Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
The acquisition of At Home Realty enables Pleasant View Realty to bring that expanded technology to the Kiel area real estate marketplace.

Strong association ties
Kapellen is a strong believer in representing the real estate industry with the highest level of expertise. As a board member and President-Elect of the Sheboygan County Board of Realtors, he has been active in supporting the real estate industry.
He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Realtors Association. Kapellen was named Realtor of the Year for Sheboygan County last year.
"We believe it's important to motivate our agents to get out there and get involved in the training offered by our associations. The credentials they can accumulate and the continuing education classes they are able to participate in help them serve our communities at the highest standards in the industry," he said.
He sees good things ahead for the real estate market.
"We have done a great job of surviving a challenging economy. Things are turning around. It's fun again, for buyers, for sellers and for real estate agents," he said.

Founded in 2002
Pleasant View Realty was founded in 2002 by Matt Kapellen's parents, Jim and Gail Kapellen. "My mother has been in real estate since 1979 and my dad since 1997, so I have been immersed in real estate my entire life. They have been excellent role models and have taught me how to work in both a productive and ethical way. I'm thankful for the solid foundation that they've built here at Pleasant View Realty and have passed on to the entire staff," Matt said.
Although Jim and Gail worked previously for other real estate agencies, they started their Pleasant View Realty agency 11 years ago - with no retirement in sight.
The agency continues to operate on its long-time motto, "Building Relationships on Trust.....is Our Way of Doing Business."
The home office of Pleasant View Realty is located at the corner of Highway 23 and Pleasant View Road in Plymouth. The company's website is located at www.PleasantViewRealty.com
