Sweere new CHS boys tennis coach
After a lengthy tenure as Chilton boys tennis coach, Tom LaFountain has retired and hands the reigns to Josh Sweere. The young Tiger coach is eager to put his first team on the courts but will have to deal with some voids in the lineup as numbers are down.

Stiefvater wins hurdles title at Manty Invite
Emily Stiefvater captured first place in the 55 meter hurdles as the tigers placed 12th as a team at the recent Pam Kjono Indoor Invitational hosted by Manitowoc at the JFK Fieldhouse. Stiefvater posted a winning time of 9.48 seconds.

Area Conference Wrestling Tournaments - VIDEO
New Holstein hosted the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, February 6. The Huskies, led by champions Tristan Rowley and David Galarno, placed fifth overall. Kiel, with champion Jose Sandoval, placed seventh.

EWC Boys Swim Meet and WIAA State Boys Swim Meet - VIDEO
Kiel and Plymouth battled it out for the team title at the 2010 Eastern Wisconsin Conference Boys Swimming & Diving Championships held at Kiel High School on Saturday, February 6. The Raiders held the lead with three events remaining, but Plymouth rallied to take home first place.

The 2010 WIAA State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships took place Friday, Feb. 19 at the UW Natatorium in Madison. Kiel's Nic and Tim Halverson each medaled in the 500 yard freestyle. Kiel and Chilton/Valders Boys Swim Team meets. VIDEO
During their home opener, Kiel won nine of the 12 events, however Port Washington had just a bit more depth and defeated the Raiders 90-86 in a boys swimming non-conference dual meet.

The Chilton High School 2009 Homecoming Parade took place uptown on Sept. 18. At halftime of the football game, seven Chilton businesses had their mascots take part in a race similar to the Milwaukee Brewers Sausage race. Chilton faced Mishicot in the Homecoming football game. WIAA State Track and Field Championship highlights - VIDEO
>A multi-million dollar renovation to Veterans Memorial Stadium in La Crosse greeted participants for Day 1 of the 114th Annual WIAA State Track and Field Championships. Although some finals are held, most of Day 1 is preliminary round action. Area athletes competing on Day 1 included Kate Schabach (shot put), Ryan Birschbach (pole vault) and Jimmy Hall (400 dash) of New Holstein; Justin Juckem (100 dash), Jordan Pethan (hurdles), Cody Kurscheidt (3200 run) and the Chilton 3200 relay team; and from Kiel, Chris Barrette (hurdles) and Derek Rickert (triple jump). The weather took a turn for the worse for Day 2 of the WIAA State Track Meet at UW-La Crosse, but area competitors reached the awards podium three different times. Alex Steiner of Chilton successfully defended his state 800 meter title, while the Chilton girls 3200 relay team and Kiel's Derek Rickert (long jump) also medaled. The first class of inductees into the Chilton High School Sports Wall of Fame were honored at halftime of the Reedsville-Chilton boys basketball game on February 27. Those inductees include six-time letterwinner Gail Rusch, former coach and athletic director John Freidel, Freidel's daughter and standout swimmer Patricia (Freidel) Jehn, former standout girls basketball player Tracy (Winkler) Schmotzer, and the late Thomas Dhein, a standout track athlete. State tournament berths were on the line Saturday, Feb. 14 as Plymouth hosted the WIAA Division 2 Boys Swimming Sectional. Kiel and Chilton-Valders were on hand for the meet, but each team came up just shy of advancing any of their athletes to state.

New Holstein and Kiel competed in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Championships at Kiel High School where the Huskies came in third and Raiders in fifth.

Chilton-Valders vs Two Rivers Boys Swim - VIDEO
The Chilton-Valders boys swim team met visiting Two Rivers in a boys swimming dual Thursday, December 18, at the Chilton Middle School. The meet came down to the final event. Chilton-Valders needed to take the first two places in the 400 yard freestyle and they did just that to win the exciting meet. The final score was: Chilton-Valders 86 Two Rivers 84. Chilton vs Menasha Boys Basketball 12.5 - VIDEO
The Chilton boys basketball team took to the court in its season and Olympian Conference opener on Friday, Dec. 5 against Menasha St. Mary Central. It was the first game for new Tiger coach Corey Behnke and his Tigers made him a winner as Jordan Stache's free throws with 13 seconds left gave Chilton a 56-54 win.
