Another track title for Raider girls
Only a second place finish by the 4x800 relay team kept Kiel girls track from a clean sweep of all four relay events as they once again, took top honors at the Oostburg Invitational last Friday, the first outdoor meet of spring.

7 in a row for Nomad Movers in KRBL
The dynasty continues in the Kiel Rec Basketball League as Nomad Movers won its seventh consecutive league title withstanding an early second half rally by Fat Boys Pub for a 45-31 victory. It was a rematch of the 2014 championship game won by Nomad, 61-49.

Dietrich downs a monster buck
Friday brought the thrill of a lifetime for 16-year-old Parker Dietrich of Kiel. Hunting in the Town of Schleswig, Dietrich bagged this 17-point monster buck which weighed in at 160 pounds. He was hunting with his father, Dean, and other friends at the time of his successful shot.

WIAA Division 2 State Semifinal Game: Kiel vs. Northwestern
Kiel brought nearly 3000 fans to the Kohl Center in Madison as their Raiders looked to beat its fourth straight number one seed in tournament play. they took on Maple Northwestern in a WIAA Division 2 State Semifinal Game. Huskies vs. Raiders boys basketball after the Kiel Lettermen's Chili Supper-VIDEO

New Holstein hosted the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, February 6. The Huskies, led by champions Tristan Rowley and David Galarno, placed fifth overall. Kiel, with champion Jose Sandoval, placed seventh.

EWC Boys Swim Meet and WIAA State Boys Swim Meet - VIDEO
Kiel and Plymouth battled it out for the team title at the 2010 Eastern Wisconsin Conference Boys Swimming & Diving Championships held at Kiel High School on Saturday, February 6. The Raiders held the lead with three events remaining, but Plymouth rallied to take home first place.

The 2010 WIAA State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships took place Friday, Feb. 19 at the UW Natatorium in Madison. Kiel's Nic and Tim Halverson each medaled in the 500 yard freestyle. Kiel and Chilton/Valders Boys Swim Team meets. VIDEO
During their home opener, Kiel won nine of the 12 events, however Port Washington had just a bit more depth and defeated the Raiders 90-86 in a boys swimming non-conference dual meet.

17th Annual Raider Cross Country Invitational - VIDEO
The 17th Annual Raider Invitational was held in near-perfect conditions at Kiel High School.

Kiel girls placed third with 105 points trailing just champion Cedar Grove-Belgium (85) and runnerup Fond du Lac St. Mary's Springs (93). The Raiders beat four conference schools, three of which are conference title contenders with Kiel.

Kiel boys were fourth at 119 points. Valders won the team championship with 57 points with Cedar Grove-Belgium second at 72 and Plymouth third with 76. CLICK THE HEADLINE TO VIEW THE VIDEO

1st Annual Sarah Adams Memorial Run/Walk - VIDEO
Despite a downpour, the 1st Annual Sarah Adams Memorial Run/Walk, part of the Kiel Picnic celebration, took place on Saturday, August 8.

Organizers of the event, Erick and Anne Adams, parents of Sarah, were extremely pleased with the turnout despite the inclement weather. Sarah Adams, a former Kiel High School athlete, passed away last winter in a traffic accident. Area Summer Sports Camps - VIDEO
Several area sports teams hosted summer camps. New Kiel varsity girls basketball coach Ryan Zellner and New Holstein varsity girls basketball coach Kathy Frisch each held youth basketball camps recently at their respective school gyms. The Kiel Raider volleyball team had their contact days last week as varsity coach Trudi Woods and JV coach Tori Gries had a chance to look over their athletes before official practice begins on August 10. WIAA State Track and Field Championship highlights - VIDEO
>A multi-million dollar renovation to Veterans Memorial Stadium in La Crosse greeted participants for Day 1 of the 114th Annual WIAA State Track and Field Championships. Although some finals are held, most of Day 1 is preliminary round action. Area athletes competing on Day 1 included Kate Schabach (shot put), Ryan Birschbach (pole vault) and Jimmy Hall (400 dash) of New Holstein; Justin Juckem (100 dash), Jordan Pethan (hurdles), Cody Kurscheidt (3200 run) and the Chilton 3200 relay team; and from Kiel, Chris Barrette (hurdles) and Derek Rickert (triple jump). The weather took a turn for the worse for Day 2 of the WIAA State Track Meet at UW-La Crosse, but area competitors reached the awards podium three different times. Alex Steiner of Chilton successfully defended his state 800 meter title, while the Chilton girls 3200 relay team and Kiel's Derek Rickert (long jump) also medaled. Alyana Muldoon (pole vault) and Jimmy Hall (400 dash) of New Holstein also competed, as did Chris Barrette (hurdles) of Kiel and Chilton boys 3200 relay team. CLICK THE HEADLINE TO VIEW THE VIDEO
