The University of Wisconsin-River Falls ROTC does a weekly Cadet Profile, and one recent week the subject was CDT Courtney Knaus. She is the daughter of Randy and Cathi Knaus of Chilton. The profile stated, “CDT Knaus has proven herself time and time again as an efficient leader, multitasker, and overall fantastic cadet! She strives everyday to help others and make company operations run as smoothly as possible. ‘What are you studying?’ Neuroscience and Health Psychology. ‘Why did you join the military?’ I joined the military because I felt I had something to prove to myself. Now, I can confidently say that I can get through any obstacle in life with the right mindset? ‘What are your hobbies?’ I enjoy anything that involves moving my body in some way whether it be lifting, hiking, cycling, etc. ‘What are your long term goals?’ Besides commissioning in two years, I hope to go to graduate school for physician assistant studies and specialize in trauma injuries.”
