To the editor:
My comments are in response to yet another Ray Mueller letter!
From reading his letter it becomes abundantly clear he knows next to nothing about the United States Constitution. In perhaps the greatest document ever written by man it specifically states we have the right to bear arms. Rather straight forward it seems to me and in very plain English. Being a rabid constitutionalist myself, with the exception of amendments to said document, all these laws about the many articles which outright seeks to dilute or change what the constitution says, quite frankly is hogwash. Nowhere in the constitution does it say there is an age limit to bear arms, nowhere does it say you need a license to conceal your firearm, nowhere does it say you cannot open carry your firearm. Nowhere! My position has always been rather simple: if you poison the tree then all that stems from that tree is therefore poision. Are you with me so far?
There is no quirk in state law regarding 16- or 17-year-olds, rather just another bastardization of the Constitution. Virtually everything reported on this particular incident was incorrect. Your liberal media got it wrong. I didn’t and young Kyle didn’t! This includes your erroneous suggestion Kyle had no right to defend himself and you further justify that statement by saying that he was the only one who fired but you fail to even mention the actual video evidence which destroys your entire ranting of gun control which you based your entire letter on. Yes he fired his gun. It’s obvious no one ever and I mean no one ever taught you a thing about firearms, because if they did: rule one, never point your weapon at another person; rule two, if a firearm is pointed at you, you shoot that person; rule three, if another person points a weapon at you, rule one becomes nonexistent.
I surmise from this letter and your many more you have written it is OK to riot in one American city after another with complete immunity. Let’s go further, in case after case “your point of view” people have killed a number of individuals who were carrying no gun! Not a one has been charged in those deaths and law enforcement in most instances know exactly who pulled the trigger. Make no excuse, these were never peaceful protests (again the Constitution guarantees us the right to peaceful protest, not the right to riot). I have not seen any letter by you condemning that type of behavior.
It bothers me greatly when people apply one set of rules to one situation and yet another set regarding the same situation only because of your political views. There’s a word for that—hypocrite. Kyle Rittenhouse enjoys no legal immunity (another liberal talking point) rather a lying corrupt media has made every attempt to destroy this young man by any means possible and let’s not forget he was found not guilty on all charges. And unless the victim draws a liberal judge those civil suits are dead in the water.
There was no vigilantism as you repeatedly suggested.
