Time to return to God’s truth

To the editor:

I would like to respond to the letter written by Ron Gruett whereby he attempts to portray anyone who calls homosexuality a sin and contrary to the will of God as hateful and ignorant.

He makes three statements in his editorial that are completely untrue and come directly from the “father of lies” himself.

The first falsehood is that some people are born this way. Would a loving Creator really place a sinful nature inside a certain number of human beings knowing how harmful it would be to them? The truth is, it entered in every human heart through the disobedience of Adam and Eve as stated in the book of Romans, 5th chapter, verses 17-19.

The second is that by pointing out their transgression insinuates that we are filled with anger towards these individuals. No, as Christians, we are to love each of them, as Jesus does. But that does not mean that we are to condone or promote their lifestyle. Genuine love is neither blind nor silent.

And third, God does indeed speak out on this subject in the Bible. Read Leviticus 18:22 to find out what he has to say about this behavior. Then get Paul’s take on it in Romans 1:24-27. It does not take a Bible scholar to figure out that this is wrong, period.

For good measure, if you are wondering how America has gotten into the mess we are in today, the answer can be found in the book of Hosea, chapter 4, verse 6. It is because we, as a nation, have forgotten God and are ignorant of His word. Maybe it’s time we return to His truth and start listening to Him!
