Black Lives Matter protest took place

A Black Lives Matter protest took place at the intersection of Main and Madison streets in Chilton on Friday, June 19 starting at noon. June 19 is Juneteenth, a day celebrating the end of slavery in the U.S. Organizers said the protest was against police brutality toward people of color and systemic racism. There is another BLM protest planned for Saturday, June 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the same spot. Anyone who cannot make the protest and wishes to support BLM in other ways can donate to bail funds, a list of which can be found at “List of Bail Funds for Protestors across the Country,” or countless other organizations supporting people of color, the organizers said.
