The Community Blood Center is having a blood drive on Saturday morning, July 25 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Malone.
The need for blood right now is very high. The largest donations of blood occur at company-sponsored drives such as Kohler, Mercury Marine, etc. and all of those blood drives have been canceled.
The Community Blood Center is taking extra precautions with the COVID-19 pandemic—temperatures are taken at the door, masks will be given to donors, and registration will take place on the bus to minimize contact.
Donation times are from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. If interested in donating blood, please text Nancy at 920-418-4484 for available times or go online and sign up at www.communityblood.org. Click on donate, find a blood drive, and use the sponsor code FD 28 and the date of July 25.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, cancer does not stop, chemotherapy cannot get rescheduled, and emergency surgery still happens. The community continues to rely on volunteer blood donors because there is no substitute for blood. One donation can save three lives. St. Paul UCC is located one mile east of Pipe at N10362 St. Paul’s Rd., Malone.
