At the Chilton School District monthly regular board meeting, Superintendent Sue Kaphingst reviewed open enrollment requests into and out of the district for the 2020-’21 school year, stating there are 157 total requests for enrollment into the district—including 35 new requests this year—and 90 total requests to enroll outside of the district.

She also noted that 16 open enrolled students would be graduating this year, while there are 15 students open enrolling into 4-K. The board approved the open enrollment requests as presented.

During her administrative report, Kaphingst let board members know that senior commencement is planned for July 11 starting at 1 p.m., and will take place onsite, outside, most likely in the student parking lot located behind the school. She said graduates will be seated six feet apart and their families will be in their cars, to ensure social distancing, noting that the county Health Department has to approve of the graduation plan. She said the parking lot size will accommodate one car per graduate.
