Classic cars will be among the special attractions and activities for a free admission open house day being sponsored by the Calumet County Historical Society on Sunday, June 12 at its museum near the corner of STH 32/57 and Irish Road one mile southeast of Chilton.

The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m.

Two of the classic cars are a 1931 Model A and a 1938 Packard owned respectively by Cindy Ellenbecker and Steve Moore of New Holstein. Those vehicles also will appear in several community parades in Calumet County this summer.

Another classic vehicle at the event will be the Gervase Hephner’s 1979 Lincoln Continental now owned by Jim Ruffing, who also will talk to interested persons about local log cabins. Hephner was a former state assemblyman representing Calumet County. Other owners of a classic vehicle are welcome to bring them to the event.

Additional attractions will be a wool spinning demonstration by Ellenbecker, a doll and baby buggy display by Scott Stebane, and materials provided by local historians Herb Buhl of Chilton/New Holstein and John Broeren of Sherwood. Representatives of the New Holstein and Malone Area historical societies are also expected to be present.

Price discounts will be offered on Chilton and Stockbridge history books. Water, soda and light snacks will be available to attendees. The museum’s permanent displays also will be open for the day.
