Chilton OK’s school budget

The Chilton School District Board of Education approved the amended 2020-’21 school budget and also approved certification of the 2020-’21 levy after a short briefing by Business Manager Sam Woelfel at the recent regular monthly board meeting.

She noted that revenue from local sources was $375,000 more than had been presented in the September budget because of revenue limit increases, and some more expenditures had been added for substitutes for staff out because of COVID-19. She said the $6.52 million levy is a 0.44 percent increase over the 2019-’20 levy, but because property values had increased by almost 4 percent, the average mill rate will be $10.64 per $1,000 of property value, compared with the $10.96 mill rate from last year.
