The City of New Holstein’s Police and Fire Commission met again Monday evening, Nov. 2 to continue working toward naming an interim chief of police.

At a meeting of the commission held Wednesday, Oct. 28, commissioners went into closed session to discuss the personnel matter and then returned to open session and announced its plan of action and timeline.

Commissioners said Commission Secretary Sonny Schaar would email all full-time New Holstein Police Department officers stating anyone interested in the interim chief of police position should submit a letter of interest to her by 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.

Monday’s meeting of the commission was to define the interview process for selecting the interim chief of police. The commission will conduct interviews the week of Nov. 9.
