Firefighters from New Holstein, other departments respond to residence fire Thursday

New Holstein firefighters have been joined by other area departments early Thursday morning (July 29) for a report of a fire at a residence on Plymouth Street/Hayton Road on the city's north side.

The call came in around 6:30 a.m. Firefighters from Chilton and Kiel are among those which also are providing mutual aid on the scene, along with New Holstein First Responders and Kiel Ambulance—the latter of which is transporting one of the residents to an area hospital for non-emergency treatment. Gold Cross Ambulance from Chilton was called to the scene to standby.

No smoke or flames were immediately visible at the scene at 6:45 a.m., although the New Holstein Fire Department's tower truck's bucket was situated over the home's roof with firefighters at the ready.
