Floral/gift shop has new owners in Chilton

After 16 years under the ownership of Jim and Diane Coffeen, Just for You Flowers and Gifts in Chilton will turn their shop keys over to new owners Kristy Pagel and Rick Schwenck, who will carry on the shop’s tradition of serving the local community.

The Coffeens transitioned from a successful dairy farming career into full-time ownership of the local flower shop in 2005. At the time, the shop was located on West Chestnut Street. They later moved to the present location on East Chestnut Street. Jim led the floral design and ran the day-to-day operations, while Diane delivered flowers and assisted with events.

Over the years, Jim gained recognition for his creative design. Not only has his skill graced many local weddings, holidays and memorials services, but he was also commissioned to provide arrangements and décor for several prominent events that tie closely to his farming roots—the Alice in Dairyland Finals, National Holstein Convention and Wisconsin Holstein Convention.

Giving back to the Calumet County community has been a pillar of the business’s values. The Coffeens have been generous contributors to youth agricultural programs including 4-H and FFA, and especially the Calumet County Fair. For many years, Just for You has sponsored plaques for all the kiddie showmanship participants and a rose banner for the show’s grand champion. They also decorated the grounds and show ring for the Futurity Show.

Now, the Coffeens look forward to enjoying their retirement years, knowing that the business they have built will continue on through its new local owners.

“We’ve really enjoyed our years of owning Just for You, and we could not be more pleased to see it pass on into good hands with Kristy and Rick,” Jim Coffeen said.

Pagel and Schwenck said, “We look forward to carrying on the long-standing tradition the Coffeens established of providing the highest level of quality and customer service to Chilton and the greater Holyland community.”

Pagel and Schwenck assumed ownership of Just for You Flowers and Gifts on Sept. 1, and both Jim and Diane Coffeen will stay on through the transition and assist with floral design and deliveries.
