Calumet County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported that on Monday morning, Jan. 25, the front end of a vehicle went through the ice about 1.3 miles from shore south of Brothertown.

A man in the vehicle was able to crawl out the back tailgate, and a few people nearby helped bring him to shore.

The Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page included this message: “This is a reminder that the ice is never 100 percent safe! Please use caution and exercise good judgment when going on the ice.”
