Final preparations for the grand opening of the eagerly awaited Kiel Performing Arts Center are being completed at the Friends of Kiel Performing Arts prepares to officially open the doors of the new facility for the very first time this coming weekend.

The Grand Opening Extravaganza will include a free lunch, information about the facility, a history of the construction timeline, a variety of bucket raffles and the opportunity to see the first performers to ever grace the stage of the facility.

The celebration is open to the public and will begin at noon with a free, light lunch. The lunch will be served in the parking lot near the entrance to the auditorium; tables and chairs will be available outdoors. Visitors will be welcome to explore the PAC lobby where they will find informational displays and a photo timeline of the PAC construction.

Additionally, tickets will be available for a wide variety of raffle baskets donated by local businesses. The raffles will conclude on May 2 with winners announced via a Facebook Live drawing at the conclusion of Sunday’s performance. Anyone interested in viewing these baskets prior to the event is invited to visit the PAC Facebook page @kielperformingarts. Baskets include many valuable gift certificates, a women’s watch, a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, a Pampered Chef pizza kit (with stone), a Barefoot Dreams blanket and much, much more.

The conclusion of each day’s event will be to Grand Opening concert at 2 p.m. each day. The concert is a collaboration of artists, including current Kiel students, Kiel graduates, and others. While the grand opening is a free event and open to the general public, people wishing to enjoy the concert must purchase a ticket. Tickets are available online at for $10 (plus service fees). If any tickets remain, they also will be available for sale at the Ticket Booth during the Grand Opening event. The seats are available in socially distanced pods. In addition to the socially distanced seating, masks will be required in the auditorium.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of Kiel Performing Arts and will support efforts to bring a concert series to Kiel to showcase the new PAC.
