City of New Holstein officials received a report at their monthly Common Council meeting last Wednesday regarding the city’s current and future housing availability.

Seth Hudson of Cedar Corporation presented the report virtually while Mary Kohrell, community economic development director for Calumet County, assisted at the New Holstein Fire Station where the council meeting was held.

The New Holstein information is just part of a Calumet County economic development plan created with the help of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) received by the county. Kohrell said one emphasis of the plan is to investigate and eliminate slum and blight areas in the county and to do a housing study. The complete study is 220 pages long and can be found on the county’s website.
