Kiel man receives 50-year platter from Kohler Co.

Merlin Zorn (third from left) received the 50-year platter at a celebration attended by coworkers, family, and Kohler leaders including Laura Kohler, senior vice president-Human Resources & Stewardship; David Kohler, president and CEO; and Herb Kohler, executive chairman. Merlin’s wife Darlene, son Scott, and daughter Renee also were in attendance.

Merlin Zorn of Kiel has seen more enameled bathtubs come off the Automatic Tub Line (ATL) at the Kohler Company than anyone—more than 5 million, to be exact.

The enamel cell operator worked more than half of his career on the ATL since it began operating in 1991. One could say they grew up together.

On Monday, Jan. 22, Zorn became the 81st associate to celebrate 50 years with Kohler Co. To honor this achievement, fellow colleagues, leaders, and family gathered to show appreciation for his years of service and present him with gifts, including the iconic 50-year platter, made especially for him in the Wisconsin Pottery.
