Law enforcement locates all 3 suspects in Valders attempted armed robbery

All three suspects in an attempted armed robbery in Valders on July 7 have now been located by authorities.

Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig released additional details on Thursday, July 15 concerning the incident:

On Wednesday, July 7 at approximately 11:30 a.m., deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the 400 block of Christel Drive in reference to an attempted armed robbery. Preliminary information was that three men enterted an apartment and assaulted two male occupants with firearms and a crow bar. Both victims sustained significant injuries from being struck by the weapons. They were transported by ambulance to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc for treatment.

Investigators identified three persons of interest and their identities were released to the media and on social media.

Hunter Steiner, 22, of New Holstein turned himself in to the Manitowoc County Jail. He was held on arrest warrants for attempted armed robbery, burglary-armed with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery, possession of burglarious tools, and bail jumping. He had a bail hearing and remains in custody on $50,000 cash bail as of July 15.

Brayton Zimmerman, 21, of Mount Calvary was located by deputies in Fond du Lac County. He was interviewed and released pending further investigation.

Chase Wagoner, 23, of Glenbeulah was arrested in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Wednesday, July 14. He was being held at the Kent County Jail pending his extradition back to Wisconsin. Sheriff Hartwig said investigators will be referring charges of attempted armed robbery, burglary-armed with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery, and possession of burglarious tools.
