Members of the Manitowoc County Expo-Ice Center Board and staff said they have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 data from local, state, and federal health officials during the past three months.
The evidence that this disease spreads quickly and easily when people are in densely populated areas has led several agencies to continue their recommendation to avoid mass gatherings.
For the safety and well-being of the community including the exhibitors, vendors, entertainers, suppliers, and staff, the Manitowoc County Fair Board made the difficult decision on Wednesday, June 10 to cancel the 2020 Manitowoc County Fair scheduled for Aug. 26-30.
While the Manitowoc County Fair is canceled for this year, the board has determined that any youth exhibitor who is aging out of participation this year and is enrolled in a 2020 project will be eligible to participate in the 2021 Manitowoc County Fair within the same project areas. This exception is only made for the 2021 Manitowoc County Fair under the fair rules and regulations with more details to follow.
