New school staff members introduced

The Chilton School District has welcomed eight new staff members to the elementary, middle, and high schools for the 2020-’21 school year.

Originally from Greenbush, Michelle Blaha is a 1990 graduate of West Bend East High School. She also attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has her National School Nurse Certification. Her work experience includes one year with Sheboygan County Public Health, one year with Holy Family Memorial Oncology, and 20 years with the Kiel Area School District. Blaha acknowledged the challenge she will have addressing the pandemic while staying current with the constantly changing guidelines, but said, “I absolutely love being a school nurse. I am so incredibly grateful to be able to do what I love within the Chilton Public Schools.”

First grade teacher Abigail Beckman is a 2014 graduate of New Holstein High School and a 2018 graduate of Silver Lake College where she minored in Spanish. Having previously taught at Madison Elementary School in Manitowoc for two years, Beckman is looking forward to helping her students grow as individuals and she said she hopes to instill in them a love for learning. She said she is excited to be back in the classroom with students, even with the changes this year, and to be a Chilton Tiger.
