As a multi-sport athlete at New Holstein High School, Tyler Zipperer faced, and conquered, many challenges on the athletic field.
That competitive nature has never left the 2011 NHHS grad as shown by his most recent challenge—a three-state bike competition.
Zipperer, son of Mark and Tammy Zipperer of New Holstein, currently resides in the Minneapolis area. He always liked biking, but a competitive race something he never dreamed of doing.
“Back in New Holstein, I rode my bike to go from Point A to Point B,” says the former Husky, known by many as “Zip.”
“Competitive biking was the furthest thing from my mind. But, up here in the Twin Cities, everybody bikes. I got this old mountain bike to just get around. Then I started to do these events where you bike to raise funds for a charity. After doing this awhile, I wanted to do something more challenging. I heard about this race, I called the director to learn more about it and I liked what I heard.”
