Santa to make outdoor visit in NH Dec. 12

Santa Claus is planning to take some time off from his busy schedule on Saturday, Dec. 12 to visit with children in New Holstein.

The New Holstein Optimist Club has arranged for Santa to be outdoors at the Optimist Park Chalet from 10 a.m. to noon that day.

In order to see Santa safely during the current pandemic, parents, grandparents, etc. can drive their children into the small parking lot at the Chalet on the north end of Mason Street. They will enter in the south driveway, drive to the middle of the lot where Santa and his helpers will be, and then exit out the north driveway.

Several chairs will be set up if parents and kids want to exit their car and get a photo using their own cellphones/cameras with Santa, who will be safely several feet behind the children in the chairs. An Optimist member will be present to take the photo if parents want to be on the photo as well.

In addition, Santa will have a small gift bag of treats for each child while supplies last.

If snow conditions permit sledding at the park that day, sledders are asked to park on the street and not in the parking lot between 10 a.m. and noon so that drivers and children can safely pass through the parking lot while Santa is there.

In the event of rain or heavy snow that morning, the event will be moved to the following Saturday, Dec. 19. If there is only light snow happening that morning, the event will take place.
