Surgery triggers woman’s need to paint

Trenna Eldridge’s life changed after she had knee surgery in February .

“Two weeks after surgery, I woke up and needed to paint. I hadn’t been creative in the past and suddenly just needed to paint. I went out to our garage and found a piece of wood and painted a little bird,” the School Hill (rural Kiel) resident said.

After painting that little bird, a passion for painting was born. “I wake up every day now and want to paint,” Eldridge said. She has been off of work from her job with Sargento since her knee surgery and painting has given her a purpose and an unexpected source of income. “I posted some of my paintings on Facebook and suddenly people were asking if the paintings were for sale.” So far, she has sold over 100 paintings.
