Winter parking rules to go into effect as of Nov. 1

Winter parking restrictions went into effect Nov. 1 in the city of Chilton and stay in effect until April 15.

No person shall park or leave standing any vehicle or equipment upon any of the streets or alleyways of the city between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Alternate parking is required for vehicles in residential areas only. Alternate parking means on even numbered calendar days a vehicle must be legally parked on the side of the street with even house numbers, on odd-numbered calendar days a vehicle must be legally parked on the side of the street with odd house numbers.

Per City of Chilton Municipal Code Chapter 4, no person shall park any vehicle or leave standing any vehicle or equipment between 2:30 and 6 a.m. in the city-owned parking lots located off Main Street and School Street; however 24-hour parking is allowed on the west side of the city-owned parking lot which has an entrance off Main Street.
