Audrey M. (Geiser) Schneider, 89, of New Holstein passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023 at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein where she resided since late December.
She was born Nov. 17, 1933 in the town of Charlestown to Frank and Agnes (Wagner) Geiser. Audrey graduated from New Holstein High School in 1951.
On May 15, 1952 she married Joseph A. Schneider at Wolter Air Force Base in Mineral Wells, Texas. Joseph preceded her in death Oct. 22, 2006.
Audrey had worked in the accounts payable at the former Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein until her retirement in 2000.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, Holy Rosary Choir, the Christian Women’s Society, Daughters of Isabella and the New Holstein American Legion Auxiliary Post 124. Audrey volunteered at the New Holstein Elementary School and was a volunteer quilter at the Salvatorian Center. She enjoyed card playing and belonged to several bridge clubs and sheepshead groups.
Audrey enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her five children, Joseph R. Schneider of Appleton, Diane (Mark) Schuh of Kiel, Brenda (Robert) St. Pierre of New Holstein, Karen (Steve) Hoefler of Kiel and Daniel (Jan) Schneider of Oconomowoc; her son-in-law, Tom Kale of Glouster, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Christa (Luis) Perozo, Lindsey (Daniel) Holcombe, Adam Schuh (fiancée,Tara), Mark Schuh, Anthony (Ashley) Kosky, Abby (Eric) Schneider, Jessica (Josh) Mertens, Eric (Kellie) Hoefler and Jamie (Kyle) Tamboli; and blessed with 19 great-grandchildren.
Audrey is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Betty (Don) Winkler, Marlene Schneider and Ann Schneider; many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Frank and Agnes Geiser; her husband, Joseph A. Schneider; a daughter, Lois Kale; son-in-law, Michael Kosky; a grandson, Andrew Hoefler; her sisters, Jeanette (Leo) Steiner, Margaret (Harold) Dreger and Eunice Enders; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph F. and Magdalena Schneider; her stepmother-in-law, Edna Schneider; brothers-in-law, Andrew Schneider, Lambert Schneider and his first wife, Anita and his second wife, Rose, Robert (Marian) Schneider, Walter (Geraldine) Schneider, Roger Schneider and Richard Schneider; sisters-in-law, Bernice (Clarence) Gruenke, Anna Mae (Mike) Klapperich and Marie (Richard) Burkard; and her step-sister-in-law, Shirley (Harold) Maltby.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison St., New Holstein. Audrey will be laid to rest next to her husband, Joseph, in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
Family and friends may visit with Audrey’s family at Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Ave., New Holstein on Thursday, Feb. 2 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Audrey’s family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Caring Hands Assisted Living and Calumet County Hospice for their exceptional care. Special thank you to her family for their loving assistance.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
