Betty Weber

Betty R. Weber, 95, of Elkhart Lake passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 19, 2021 at home.

She was born in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Herman and Ella (Gruhle) Roehr. Betty was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1943. On Sept. 4, 1948 she married James C. Weber at First Presbyterian Church, Kiel; after nearly 72 years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 2020. Betty was employed by Kiel Savings and Loan (Bank Mutual) for many years and New Holstein Elementary School as a teacher’s aide for over 10 years. Betty was united with Jim in operating the dairy farm they purchased in 1946. Betty and Jim were active members of Kiel Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and sang in the church choir. Betty enjoyed volunteering for the Calumet Homestead Auxiliary Board for over 25 years, Calumet Memorial Hospital as a hospice volunteer, the New Holstein Library, Calumet County Senior Resource Board (ADRC), Historical Society, as well as the Friends of Ledge View. She was a member of the Town and Country Homemakers for over 50 years. Betty and Jim enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and numerous international locations. Betty enjoyed reading, knitting, playing bridge and spending time with family and friends. Betty looked forward to the laughter and energy provided by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Patricia (Tom Windle) Weber of Jackson, Wyoming; Jonathan (Kimmery) Weber of Appleton; Michael (Lynn) Weber of Eau Claire; and Mary Beth (Todd) Pritchard of Kiel; grandchildren Bryndon Windle (Samantha Andreozzi), Matthew (Ashley) Weber, Anne Weber, Jacob Pritchard (fiancé Melinda Oliver) and Bethany Pritchard; and great-grandchildren Mason, Erin and Sophia. Betty is further survived by a sister-in-law, Bernice Cade; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, parents Herman and Ella Roehr; father-in-law and mother-in-law Clifford and Anna Weber; sister Gladys (Norbert) Rock; brothers-in-law Roy (Carol) and George; and sisters-in-law Marge (Bruce) Morrissey, Grace (Earl) Schneider and Wanda Weber.

A Celebration of Life will be held in spring for Betty and Jim. Condolences may be sent directly to the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home at 815 6th St., Kiel, WI 53042, attn: Betty Weber Family.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Cedar Community Assisted Living, Elkhart Lake for all of their compassion and care. They also would like to thank Sharon Richardson Home Hospice for all their help in making Betty comfortable in her last days. A special thanks to Dr. David Deubler for a lifetime of care and friendship.
