Carl Scheuers

Carl Edward Scheuers, 92, died at home on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 after contracting a case of pneumonia unrelated to COVID-19.

He was born in Fond du Lac on July 27, 1928 to Edward Carl and Belle Berniece (Shipman) Scheuers. He and Carol Mae Skowlund (Marytown) were married in April 1952.

Win or lose Carl was a lifelong Packers fan. He served in the National Guard and worked hard at many jobs during his lifetime. He told of walking on the ledges to wash the outside windows on the Hotel Retlaw in Fond du Lac. But he was most fond of his truck driving years especially to the East Coast through the Allegheny mountains. He enjoyed driving forklift at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein and for many years as a volunteer with Wisconsin Food Share in Plover. He also volunteered at the Kiel food pantry and maintained a rural motor route delivering newspapers.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, his beloved cat JJ, and eight of his children—Anna, Beverly, Henry, Iric (Kim Z.), and Kenneth of Madison; Gail (Eugene) Scheuers Sobiech of Winneconne, and Edward (Darlene) Scheuers of Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John, Carl (Jocelyn), Mindy, Norine, Frederick, Rebecca, William, and Xanadu Scheuers; Paul, Joseph (Sarah), and Quincy Scheuers Sobiech; Lisa Hoffman, and Vannessa Lee; and his great-grandchildren, Carley, Zoey, and Samuel Scheuers; Megan and Laura Hoffman; Luke and Laykin Scheuers Sobiech; Jason Krielkamp, Ronald DeCremer IV, and Oceanna Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Laura Mae; two sons, Joseph and Frederick Scheuers; and two grandchildren, Samuel Joseph Scheuers and Sam Lee.

Carl was buried Jan. 22 in St Paul Cemetery in Malone. His family is very grateful for the loving care provided by Heartland Hospice especially Tammy, Patty, Cathy, Kayla, and Chaplain Sr. Nicole. Please direct any memorials to your local food pantry.
