Cyrilla M. Faust, 98, of New Holstein passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 at Homestead Health Services.
Cyrilla was born Aug. 22, 1922 in Marytown to the late Edward and Genevieve (Stephany) Ditter. She grew up on the family farm near Garnet in Fond du Lac County. On May 6, 1942 she married Joseph J. Faust at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marytown. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1974. The couple raised four children and farmed in the town of Rhine. Cyrilla was employed by A. A. Laun Furniture Factory. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul where she was active in Christian Women. She was well known for her German potato salad, which was served at funeral meals at Ss. Peter and Paul Church. Cyrilla also enjoyed quilting at St. Mary and St. Ann churches for the Salvatorian Missions. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She took great pride in helping them obtain their driver’s licenses and passing the exam on the first attempt. While at the nursing home, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing with Roberta’s dog, Charlie.
She is survived by three children, Joe (Rosi) Faust, Del (Julie) Faust, and Roberta (Gary) Isaacs; daughter-in-law Darlene Faust; 17 grandchildren, Angela (Brad) Karls, Kristine (Matt) Schaefer, Lisa (Scott) Meyer, Karen Faust (special friend Paris), Amanda Faust, Joe (Rachel) Faust, Jeff Faust (special friend Heather), Eric (Denise) Faust, Adam (Ahu) Faust, Heidi Faust-O’Brien (special friend James), Jennie Flood (special friend Eric) Matt (Holly) Schafer, Ronda (Scott) Brown, Scott (Paula) Isaacs, Jerry (Deidre) Faust, Matt (Dawn) Faust, and Corey (Aaryn) Faust; 26 great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law, Rita Faust S.D.S., Georgene Faust S.D.S., Margaret (Ed) Steinert, and Jane Ludowissi.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joseph, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry; brother Wilfred (Pat) Ditter, sister Ethelreda (Joe) Mueller; six brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Cyrilla will be held privately. Burial will take place at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
