Delmar Buechel

Delmar Buechel, our Dad, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Great Great Grandfather, after dealing with heart and cancer problems, was called by the Lord to heaven to be with our family and friends in heaven on Sept. 24, 2021.

Delmar was born Sept. 19, 1927 to Michael and Ella (Karls) Buechel.

Delmar married Marie Schumacher on Oct. 14, 1947. They farmed for 25 years in the Jericho area. During his life, Delmar was a bus driver for the Chilton School District, deputy for Calumet County, road supervisor for the Town of Brothertown, board supervisor for the Town of Brothertown and also served as secretary on the Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery Committee, at which time he also took care of burials for the parish and maintaining the cemetery grounds.

Delmar is survived by his children, James (Annette) Buechel of Arizona, Gerald (Ginny) Buechel of Chilton and Janice Lefeber of St. Cloud; special friend Joanie Freund; grandchildren Heath (Katie) Buechel, Athena (Dave) Grailer, Lynda (Randy) Karls, Jeff Buechel, Dan (Stacy) Buechel, Shelley (Phil) Schlude, Lisa Clark and Francis Lefeber; great-grandchildren Tyler Buechel, Marissa (Josh) Hinz, Danielle Karls, Heather Karls, Dylan Buechel, Gavin Buechel, Ty Buechel, Makenna Schlude, Casey Grailer, Eddie John Grailer, Chase Clark and Kalina Mae Clark; great-great-grandchild Charlotte Krueger; brother Marvin (Delores) Buechel; sister-in-law Esther Schumacher; and many nieces and nephews.

Delmar was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marie; parents Michael and Ella Buechel; sister Virginia Buechel; great-grandchild Leila Mae Clark; son-in-law Paul Lefeber; brothers-in-law Francis Schumacher, Andrew Schumacher, Paul Schumacher and Edward Schumacher; and sisters-in-law Laurina Schumacher, Marie Schumacher and Edwina Schumacher.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St. in Chilton. Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home on the day of the service. A committal service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 8 at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Jericho.
