Malinda Hansen

“On Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, Malinda Marie Hansen, my wife, best friend and super sidekick was suddenly called to her everlasting home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Mindy was born Aug. 10, 1974 to William “Wild Bill” and Bernie Schmitt. Mindy’s family was always her passion. She always enjoyed being at her family’s farmhouse in Wild Rose. Mindy had five sisters and brothers: Terry (Bob) Beder, Jeff Schmitt, Ronald Schmitt, Scott Schmitt and Brenda (Matt) Hammack. Her love was shared with her nieces and nephews: Josh, Joelle, Courtney, Kayla, Ben, Justin, Jake, Amber and Logan.

On July 15, 1994 Mindy married Eric D. Hansen in front of the beautiful Washington County Courthouse. Her sister and best friend, Brenda, stood beside her as her maid of honor while her other sister, Terry, assisted with everything else that needed to be done on that blessed day.

Mindy was the extremely proud mother of two wonderfully energetic boys who always took time out of their busy schedules to be there for all her health issues: Spencer Ace (Katherine Elizabeth) and Samuel David.

Mindy was blessed to be able to spend a lot of quality time with her three grandchildren: Oscar David, Owen Scott and Scarlette Anna Lee. She would always proudly wear her grandma shirt every time she could.

Mindy was full of joy. Whenever she walked into a room she filled it with laughter and happiness. She was always willing to help anyone who was in need of a shoulder to cry on, ear to listen and the biggest hugs.

Mindy loved camping with her camping family who make up the Hartford Y-Knots. Mindy also enjoyed working on big puzzles. Mindy involved herself by bowling with her Wednesday bowling league at Pla-Mor Lanes.

Preceding Mindy in death were several aunts, uncles, cousins, other family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Ave., New Holstein.

Family and friends may visit with Mindy’s family at Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Friday, Jan. 13 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
