Thomas R. Schroeder, 60, died peacefully with his brother and sisters by his side at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Falls, on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 after a brief illness.
Tom was born in Sheboygan on Nov. 27, 1959, son of the late Bob and Dori (Turba) Schroeder. He attended SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Grade School in Kiel, and was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1978. After high school, Tom started working as a butcher in his parents’ grocery store. He was employed with Wisconsin Pipe and Concrete for over 25 years and VanDerVart Concrete until his illness caused him to retire. Tom was a former member of the Kiel Fish & Game as well as the Hermitage Club. He enjoyed the outdoors until the day he died. Tom took many hunting trips across the U.S. and Canada, hunting various types of game. He also could be found spending time with his brother and sisters and their families, especially around a bonfire. Tom was a rugged man with a heart of gold.
He is survived by his sisters and brother, Mary Raquet, Marge (Jim) Fromm, Chuck Schroeder (special friend Cindy), and Missy (Dave) Brandt; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. Tom is further survived by other relatives and many of his hunting buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Dori Schroeder; and his canine companions Johnny and Clint, his hunting buddy.
Per Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services were held. He was laid to rest at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Kiel.
A memorial fund will be established in Tom’s name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
