Valeria Pingel

Valeria Ann “Val” Pingel, 79, of Chilton died on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her home.

She was born April 5, 1942 in the town of New Holstein, daughter of the late Gilbert and Veronica (Karls) Anhalt.

Val worked for Mirro Foley in Chilton until the plant was closed and she settled into retirement. It was at that time she really began to cherish the moments sitting on the back porch of her house and volunteered countless hours with the Aging and Disability Resource Center escorting people from place to place with her own vehicle.

As a woman who loved to do crafts and work with her hands, Val took an exceptional amount of time and detail crocheting and quilting. She was especially well known for her skills as a quilter and her family, especially her grandchildren, will treasure the creations made by their grandmother’s hands.

Survivors include her children, Chris Pingel and his special friend, Tina DeBauche; Tina Malloy and her special friend, Ray Springer; Bill (Michelle) Pingel, and Cindy (Josh) Schuler; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings and in-laws, Leo (Elaine) Anhalt, Sylveria (Gerry) Krebsbach, Wilfred “Fritz” (Arlene) Anhalt, Ed Anhalt, Robert Anhalt, Rosemary (Glenn) Lindstrom, Gloria (Phillip) Endries, Jim (Vicki) Anhalt, MaryLou (Orville) Behnke, Joe Anhalt, Richard (Jean) Anhalt, Luella (Tom) Bender, Michael (Teresa) Anhalt, Linda Steege, and Jim (Chris) Pingel; very dear friends, Larry and Vicki Schroeder; and her beloved canine companion, Cocoa. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her brothers, John Anhalt and Orville (Delores) Anhalt; and her other in-laws, Clara Anhalt and Nina Anhalt.
