Kiel

Kiel had long drives, but could not sustain them and then a series of bad luck late in the fourth quarter allowed visiting Brillion to pull away for a 21-0 win in a battle of unbeaten Eastern Wisconsin Conference football teams at Fifrick Field Friday night.

It was a physical battle all night as four unsportsmanlike conduct penalties were called.

Sam Galoff scored from a yard out with 14 seconds left in the second quarter to put Brillion up 7-0 and it stayed that way until four minutes left in the game.

On a fourth down play, Lion quarterback Mason Behnke threw up a "jump ball" pass to the end zone where Mitchell Kaderabek outjumped two Kiel defenders for a touchdown.

On the ensuing kickoff, Kiel fumbled at the 12 and Alex Heredia returned it for another score and the 21-0 final.

Brillion and Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Sheboygan Christian are now 3-0 after Kohler rallied for a 28-25 win over upset-minded Two Rivers. Kiel plays KLF at Lakeland University next Friday. The Raiders drop to 2-1 in the EWC.

In other EWC action, Chilton didn't have the magic this week scoring late, but missing a two-point conversion in a 29-28 loss to New Holstein. Valders cruised past Manitowoc Roncalli, 37-6.
