The COVID crisis continues to plague local athletics.

This Friday concludes the regular season portion of the high school football schedule and all three local schools have schedule changes.

As was previously reported, the Chilton at New Holstein game for Friday was cancelled due to a COVID issue at Chilton. However, the Huskies have found another opponent.

Oostburg will come to NHHS at 7 pm in what will be New Holstein's Homecoming game. The Huskies will receive a forfeit win from Chilton and the Oostburg game will count for statistics only, not in the won-loss record.

Kiel was scheduled to travel to Brillion Friday night. That game has been moved to Saturday at 12 pm at the Brillion Middle School stadium (the old high school) in downtown Brillion.

The WIAA has not officially announced its playoff plan, but speculation is that they will still try for a 224-school field in seven divisions as is the norm. But the 2020 season has hardly been the norm. If speculation does come to fruition, then all three local teams would be in line for a November 13 round one game. Again, the pandemic could play a role in that. The WIAA has said they will have a two-round regional playoff.

More information is forthcoming.
