Chilton Boys BB Lettermen

Returning letter winners for Chilton Boys Basketball (from left): Blake Biese, Connor Rowland, Lukas Halbach and Alex Breckheimer.

A major rebuild is in store for Corey Behnke and the Chilton Tiger boys basketball team. Replacing last season’s Eastern Wisconsin Conference Player of the Year Ryan Broeckel will be tough to do, but four lettermen will attempt to keep the Tigers among the EWC elite.

The 2020-21 Tiger boys basketball preview:

COACH: Corey Behnke (13th season)

2019-20 RECORD: 18-6 overall; 10-4 Eastern Wisconsin Conference (3rd place).

2019-20 REVIEW: Chilton was in line to host the sectional semifinal, but a heartbreaking last second loss at Oostburg in the WIAA Division 3 regional final ended those hopes. Broeckel led the EWC in scoring and has graduated, as has Second Team All-EWC Will Kapral, Camden Bowe, Austin Moehn and Brady Glidden.

2020-21 PREVIEW: Lukas Halbach leads five returning lettermen and should be among the top scorers in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference. Alex Breckheimer will be the main presence inside with lettermen Blake Biese, Connor Rowland and Alek Lemke also being main producers. Lemke will be out of the lineup the first couple of weeks. The rest of the roster looks like this: Senior- Trevor Mueller; Juniors- Bennett Glidden, Jordan Lemke, Luke Moehn and Mitchell Schwobe; Sophomores- Austin Grube, Warren Wilcox, Will Fuerbringer and Max Mueller.

A fourth consecutive top four EWC finish is an obtainable goal for this group that should get stronger as the season goes on.
