The Chilton girls basketball team continues to build for the future as only one senior is on the 2020-21 roster.
Here is the 2020-21 Tiger girls hoops preview:
CHILTON GIRLS BASKETBALL
COACH: Tom Molitor (7th season)
2019-20 RECORD: 2-21 overall; 0-14 Conference (8th place).
2019-20 REVIEW: The Tigers beat Plainfield Tri-County (37-19) and Stockbridge (48-30) in non-conference games for their lone victories of the season. Chilton had just four seniors in Hope Meyer, Mariah Moehn, Alannah Hughes and Silvia Usai. The season ended with a regional opening loss at Kiel.
2020-21 PREVIEW: The good news is that coach Molitor welcomes back his leading scorer from a year ago in junior Olivia Hoerl. Hoerl was voted honorable mention All-Eastern Wisconsin Conference and averaged 12 points a game. The lone senior on the team is forward McKayla Mertz while other juniors are Tatum Woodcock, Sadie Bartels and Sofia Billmann. The sophomore class includes Makayla Gambsky, Brianna Ott, Abi Juedes, Masie Monroe and Riley Schneider.
As far as the conference race goes, defending champ Valders, along with Kiel, Brillion and Manitowoc Roncalli look to be strong. New Holstein may be the surprise team.
