Chilton looks to challenge in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference behind these returning letter winners. From left: Brianna Nenahlo, Kelli Sullivan, Callie Woelfel, Kayla Stenz, Shayla Rees, Taylor Meyers and Megan Meyers.

Chilton surrendered the Eastern Wisconsin Conference volleyball title last fall and they want it back. Veteran coach Leah Cisler welcomes back seven returnees who will try to do just that.

The 2020 Tiger volleyball preview:

Head Coach: Leah Cisler (7th season)

2019 Record: 14-23 overall; 4-3 conference (4th place).

State Tournament History: Chilton has never qualified for the WIAA State Tournament.

Looking back at 2019: After a 34-win 2018 season, the Tigers were in rebuilding mode and fell below the .500 mark. Callie Woelfel was First Team All-Eastern Wisconsin Conference as a libero while Second Team All-EWC went to Kelli Sullivan at outside hitter while Shayla Rees was honorable mention outside hitter. Tiger seniors were Hope Meyer, Mariah Moehn, Alannah Hughes and Isabell Kopf. Waupaca beat Chilton in the WIAA Division 2 regional opener.

A look ahead at 2020: All three All-EWC honorees return and the Tigers are eager to challenge for the top spot in what will be a strange volleyball season with the current pandemic restricting the schedule to just conference matches, an invite at Oconto Falls and a non-conference dual with Hilbert. Even post season action is up in the air. Besides Woelfel, Sullivan and Rees, returning are Brianna Nenahlo, Kayla Stenz, Taylor Meyers and Megan Meyers. In addition, varsity prospects include senior Sara Ray, juniors Sadie Bartels, Morgan Owens and Lauren Leitner, and sophomore Victoria Propson. Dethroning Valders as EWC champ will be tough as the Vikings return most of their team.
