Brillion forced five Chilton turnovers and never trailed in a 34-7 Eastern Wisconsin Conference football win at Brillion Friday evening.
Oddly enough, Chilton never punted in the game as they enjoyed good field position most of the night. They were only able to cash in when Zach Halbach hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass from Alex Breckheimer. The Tigers were in Brillion territory three other times only to be denied either on turnover, or on downs.
The loss sends Chilton to a 2-4 EWC record, but there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. A win in its regular season finale next Friday against Valders could possibly put the Tigers in playoff position as the WIAA will likely not be able to fill the entire 224-school playoff field with above .500 teams.
A Valders win would give Chilton a 3-4 conference mark and one of those wins is against a potential playoff team in Two Rivers.
Meanwhile, Brillion joins Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Sheboygan Christian with 6-0 records. Those two meet with the EWC title on the line next Friday at Kohler.
