It was as good as advertised and in the end it was New Holstein forcing a three-way tie for the lead in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference girls basketball standings with a 75-65 win over Kiel before a big house at Kiel High School.

Those two, along with Brillion, are 4-1 in the conference after Brillion won at Valders.

NH sharpshooting guard Grace Schisel was at the top of her game scoring a game-high 31 points and hit clutch free throws down the stretch to hold off a late Raider charge. Emma Adleman led Kiel with 16 points as the Raiders were coached by long-time JV and varsity assistant Galen LaDuke, in absence of first year coach Jamie Vandermeuse.

Kiel won the JV contest, 31-26.
