Howards Grove and Johnsburg remained unbeaten in East Shore League baseball action. Last weekend’s game recaps follow:

MOUNT CALVARY 13 CHILTON 3

Host Mount Calvary cruised in this one as Kaine Mertens and Josh Burg had three hits each while Hunter Petrie and Bryce Karrels backed up winning pitcher Matt Wells with two hits. Cole Woelfel led Chilton with three hits. Zach Boehnlein took the loss.

ST. CLOUD 9 MARYTOWN 1

Ryan Steffes doubled amongst his three hits while Cade Christensen and Brandon Goebel each had doubles in their two hits as pitcher Josh Ditter and St. Cloud triumphed over Marytown who had two hits each from Erik Hansen and Randy Smith. The loss went to Brad Schroeder.

JOHNSBURG 4 CLEVELAND 1

Another stellar pitching outing from Johnsburg’s Corbin Thompson as he received help at the plate from Owen Olson as Olson smashed a home run. Charlie Reschke had a solo blast for the Wildcats and David Esswein doubled. Nick Reschke was the losing pitcher.

HOWARDS GROVE 12 ST. PETER 8

In a wild one at St. Peter, the Riverdogs got a homer and three hits from Zac Cain, along with three hits and a two-bagger from Nic Koenig as HG gave St. Peter its first loss. Adding to that were Mason Valenstein and Ashton Holzman with two hits apiece. Reggie Hernandez circled the bases for St. Pete, as did Jason Schneider. Benton Deanovich, Jake Schneider and Jack Nedjedlo, all had two hits.

The win went to Austin Edge. The loss to Joe Brunette.

This Saturday finds Johnsburg going to Marytown at 3 pm. Sunday’s slate has Mount Calvary hosting Forest at 12:30 while Chilton invades Howards Grove and St. Peter is at Cleveland in 1 pm starts. The bye goes to St. Cloud.
