They were a bit slow out of the gate, but a string of 12 unanswered points put Kiel up for good at 14-5 and the Raider girls basketball team scored a 59-39 win over Sheboygan Falls Monday night in Eastern Wisconsin Conference action at Kiel High School.

Elsa Lucas hit a FT line jumper just as the first half horn sounded making it 38-19 Kiel at halftime.

Freshman Coryn Fromm had a nice bounce-back game leading Kiel with 13 points that included three three-point field goals. Jocelyn Aprill and Emma Adleman each had 11 points and the play of Halle Meyer and Carlee Meyer sparked the first half uprising.

“I was worried that Falls was going to sit back in that zone because we struggled with it the first time at their place,” said Kiel coach Jeremy Bushman.

“We got nice contributions from some other kids tonight. Especially Halle Meyer and Carleen Meyer. It was great to see that.”

Amber Spatz led Sheboygan Falls with 12 points and Dayton Thiel had seven.

Lydia VanderMeer had 12 points and Reagan Isselmann nine as the Kiel JV beat Falls 42-27. Olivia Hartlep had nine for the Falcons
