A veteran group takes to the floor for Kiel and new volleyball coach Megan Kautzer. The rebuild continues, but this season there is some extra excitement as Kiel returns most of their 2020 team.
The Raider volleyball preview:
Head Coach: Megan Kautzer
2020 RECORD: Seventh place in Eastern Wisconsin Conference. 7-14 overall.
2020 REVIEW: COVID limited some of the non-conference action, but Kiel still managed to play an entire conference schedule. Sage August was First Team All-EWC. Making Second Team All-Eastern Wisconsin Conference were Carleen Mayer at middle blocker and Alyssa Vorphal at setter. Honorable Mention went to Allison Ash at right side hitter and Grace Mc Dole at outside hitter. Alyssa Vogel, Andrea Meyer and Kasey Schaefer were the lone seniors.
2021 PREVIEW: All four all-conference players return as Kautzer takes over as head coach for Taylor Bubolz. Also returning are Ella Wasmer, Kendall Fisher, Sydney Pitzen, Olivia Funkhouser and Halle Meyer. Joining them will be Katelyn Uselding, Kylie Meister, Kirsten Riesterer and MaKayla Gardner.
Defending champ Two Rivers returns 2020 MVP Mackenzie Graff and appears to be the team to beat with Valders, New Holstein and Chilton also in the running. Kiel will look to be this season’s surprise team.
