The Husky boys basketball team is finding its groove and at the right time of the season.
Coach Jason Hoerth’s team has won three of its last five games including a dominating 61-41 win Monday night at Two Rivers (more on that game next week.)
Last Saturday afternoon at NHHS, Kewaskum led early, but New Holstein caught the Indians late in the first half and pulled out a 64-54 victory over its former Eastern Wisconsin Conference foe, now a member of the East Central Conference.
The Huskies trailed 16-8 with 11 minutes left in the first half, but a 17-2 run put them up for good. It would be 30-27 NH at halftime.
Cooper Olson hit the go-ahead three-pointer and had six points in the spurt. Phillip Casper, Jaden Braun, Adam Scholz and Sam Cady also scored in the rally.
Henry Schnell led New Holstein with 14 points with Sam Casper adding 13 and Cooper Olson ten.
The JV2 Huskies beat Kewaskum, 45-31, as Owen Abler and Abhram Smith each had nine points and Lukas Halbach eight. The JV1 contest went to Kewaskum, 62-54, despite three Huskies in double figures led by Mason Schmitz and Marcus Franzen with 12 each and Cohen Barajas with ten points.
