Under new head coach Katrina Rumpff, the New Holstein volleyball team returns these letter winners. Front Row (from left)- Olivia Hephner, Cami Guelig and Alyssa Anhalt. Back Row- Karly Schmitz, Mya Conrad, Makenzie Schrage, Amalia Fox and Jessica Diedrich.

Coming off another successful season, the New Holstein volleyball program welcomes another new head coach. Former Kiel volleyball coach Katrina Rumpff takes over a Husky team that should challenge again for the conference.

The 2020 Husky volleyball preview:

Head Coach: Katrina Rumpff (1st season)

2019 Record: 21-14 overall; 6-1 conference (2nd place)

State Tournament History: The 1987 Husky team is the lone New Holstein team to reach state. The state tournament took place at UW-Oshkosh. The Huskies, coached by Mary Langenfeld, had a 3-2 record in Class B.

Looking back at 2019: The regular season came down to the top two teams in the conference and Valders got the best of the Huskies to win the EWC and then, a week later, ended the NH season with a dramatic regional victory. Amalia Fox (middle hitter) and Olivia Hephner (setter) were First Team All-EWC. Making honorable mention were seniors Alisha Schaefer (outside hitter), Ashley Lisowe (outside hitter) and Alexis Danes (libero).

A look ahead at 2020: Hephner and Fox anchor a strong NH team. Also back are Makenzie Schrage at setter, Cami Guelig (defensive specialist and libero), Alyssa Wagner-Anhalt (libero), Jess Diedrich (defensive specialist), Karly Schmitz (middle hitter) and Mya Conrad (outside hitter). Newcomers are Sally Schaefer (outside hitter), Skylyn Jaeger (middle hitter) and Courtney Schaefer (setter).

Once again, the regular season ends with a Valders-New Holstein match, this time on the Huskies home court as these two should be among the EWC elite this fall.
