KELG Girls Swim Letter Winners

Returnees for Kiel/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah girls swimming and diving include: Front Row (from left) Ellen Keuler, Ally Boyer and Paris Lutze. Back Row- Savannah Vogel, Kyrsten Neuhaus and Amber Henschel.

If there is one sport that has been hit hard by the current pandemic, it is the Kiel/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah girls swimming and diving team. The team is way down in numbers, but there are still some very talented girls taking to the waters.

The 2020 Raider girls swimming preview:

Head Coach: Marcy Keuler (3rd season)

2019 Record: 4th place at Eastern Wisconsin Conference Meet

Looking back at 2019: After just missing state as a freshman in 2018, Ally Boyer didn’t miss last fall and had a 12th place finish in the Division 2 field in the 100 yard breaststroke at the 50th Annual WIAA State Girls Swimming and Diving Championships. That gave Kiel five team points.

Kiel came home with nine medals after a fourth place team finish in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Girls Swimming and Diving Championships moving up one place from 2018. Heading the list of medal winners for the Raiders was Boyer. Boyer comes away as a double EWC champion successfully defending her title in the 100 yard breaststroke and winning the 200 individual medley. Ellen Keuler was third in the 200 IM. The medley relay team of Keuler, Boyer, Maggie Keuler and Peyton Radloff was third while also earning third place honors was the Raider 200 freestyle relay of the Keuler’s, Boyer and Jenna Sabel.

A look ahead at 2020: Boyer leads a list of six returnees on a young K/ELG roster that will struggle to move up the conference standings due to their numbers problem. Also back are Ellen Keuler, Amber Henschel (freestyle and Breaststroke), Kyrsten Neuhaus (freestyle), Paris Lutze (breaststroke), Savannah Vogel (backstroke). Defending champ Kohler Triad will get strong challenges from Brillion/Valders/Chilton/Kaukauna and Plymouth in the conference.
