Chilton's Hunter Heller

We are now in the placement round at the WIAA Division 2 State Individual Wrestling Championships at Adams-Friendship High School. Each of our three area schools have one wrestler that will earn a state medal. However, none are in Saturday night’s finals.

Chilton’s Hunter Heller won his consolation semifinal pinning Mason Baumgartner of Prairie du Chien at 106 pounds.

Eyan Dessellier of Kiel lost his championship bracket semifinal on a 2:56 pin to Winneconne’s Brody Hart and Mike Volz of New Holstein, down 7-3 late in his match against Brodhead-Juda’s Cole Hoesly, gained a reversal and then pinned Hoesly with 18 seconds left to advance to the medal round.

All three wrestle twice more this afternoon.

Elsewhere, Kiel’s Andrew Schad, Joah Lund, Ezekiel Sippel and Isaac VanderMeer all lost in consolation semifinal matches and are eliminated. That holds true for Chilton/Hilbert’s Reed Breckheimer.
