Stockbridge High School basketball teams both win tournament titles

The Stockbridge High School boys and girls basketball teams swept the Lena Tournament on Monday and Tuesday.

The boys cruised past Lena 67-32 while the girls edged Lena 47-45.

In other recent Stockbridge action, behind 21 points, eight rebounds and three steals from Maddie LeGault, Stockbridge girls basketball dealt Milwaukee Heritage Christian a 51-35 defeat last week. Grace VandeHey added 14 points and seven boards with Kali Schmunck having a team-best six steals.

SHS also downed Marinette St. Thomas Aquinas 44-28 as LeGault had 23 points and VandeHey 13.

On the boys side, the Indians roared back from their first loss of the season to rout visiting St. Thomas Aquinas, 71-32, behind a 41-point second half. Stockbridge had four players score in double figures with Aaron Bunnell having 14, Levi Piper 11, and Mike Holzer and Jake Willett, 10 each.
