The season began for boys swimming and diving, and boys basketball while girls basketball entered week two.

A brief recap of the last two nights of area action:

BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING

Sheboygan North 194, Kiel 122, Plymouth 98, Fond du Lac 93

At Kiel, the host Raiders knocked off Eastern Wisconsin Conference power Plymouth and Division 1 Fondy while taking second to Division 1 Sheboygan North. Daniel Madson and Aaron Federwisch had a 1-2 finish in the 200 yard freestyle.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Stockbridge 44 Milwaukee Carmen 34

At Milwaukee, Stockbridge evened its mark at 1-1 as Laurynn Ruppenthal scored 20 points.

Kewaskum 45 Kiel 32

At Kewaskum, Kiel could not shake off a slow start and fell to its former Eastern Wisconsin Conference opponent.

Chilton 35 Algoma 19

Monday night in Chilton, the Chilton defense stymied Algoma, a team picked to finish second in the Packerland Conference.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Kiel 88 Green Bay West 50

At Kiel, in the season opener, the Raiders never trailed and put the game on running time in the second half as Jack Heckmann had a career-high 24 points. Grant Manz had a monster night on the boards. He had 20 first half caroms and his final tally was not yet available.

GB West edged Kiel, 46-44, in the JV tilt.

Chilton 61 Sturgeon Bay 49

At Chilton, the host Tigers led most of the way, but never comfortably.

Campbellsport 71 New Holstein 49

At Campbellsport, after falling behind by double-digits in the first half, the Huskies got the deficit down to nine after halftime, but the host Cougars regrouped and won going away.
